Shawn Aaron

Shawn Aaron (he/him) is a Black queer trans man, nonprofit leader, and host of Dem Bois Podcast. He is the Founder + Executive Director of Dem Bois Inc., an organization dedicated to affirming and supporting trans men of color through access to gender-affirming care, health equity, and visibility. Drawing from his lived experience with homelessness, Shawn’s mission is rooted in community care and systemic change. Whether through storytelling or advocacy, his work amplifies the voices of those too often unheard. His signature belief: Visibility = Possibility™

Mattie Bynum

Growing up in a small southern town and knowing she was different, Mattie Bynum has never shied away forming using her voice. As a teenager she argued that all Duke University employees should have all the same benefits and rights. In her twenties she began to understand the power behind her voice and presence. Showing up and working with many different organizations, Mattie has been committed to seeing that no one goes with out food with her hearty home cooking and never overlooked or forgotten by always recognizing every person that comes across her path. During the era of her 30’s, Mattie used multiple stages to get her point across. Whether it was followed by laughter as a comedian in her hit one woman show “Mattie Larger Than Life”, Listening to her discuss current topics on the her radio show “Salon After Dark” or becoming an international presence on the reality tv “My Big Fat Fabulous Life”. You will always hear and see Mattie doing something to make room or is simply inventing space for all to feel welcome and inclusive.

Kate D'Adamo

Kate D’Adamo (she/they) is a mixed-race, queer femme with a passion for history, hoop earrings, horror, and exploring the ways that we connect and heal. Kate is a partner at Reframe Health and Justice, a collective working at the intersections of harm reduction, healing justice and criminal-legal reform, and has been a long-time sex worker organizer and advocate. Kate is excited to connect with the queer advocates who are shaping our world and future, and especially loves to hear stories of what happens when we fight from a place of love, joy and collective liberation. Kate is based out of a tiny, old witch house in the mid Atlantic on Piscataway land.

Kenyon Farrow

Kenyon Farrow (he/him) is a writer, editor, and strategist, whose work has long focused on public health and infectious disease with a focus on racial, gender and economic justice. Outside of social justice work, Kenyon is a big music nerd, theatre and dance enthusaist, and a househead. 

Hunter

Hunter (they/them) is a queer, Black, disabled femme with many passions – including urban foraging and local sourcing, education, consent and kink, health equity, Appalachian roots, the intersectionalities of identities and community, and more. When they’re not out trying to save the world (or be 3 raccoons in a trenchcoat), Hunter is a photographer, crafter, baker, gardener, and an avid lover of the dark and mysterious. Hunter’s family has always stated that they’ve “never known a stranger”, which makes for a natural pursuit in podcasts and portraiture photography. Melodie KG

Melodie (she/they) is a published author, speaker, and activist with over 12 years of experience leading social justice projects ranging from direct services to advocacy to philanthropy. Currently, Melodie is the Co-Director for New Moon Network, an intermediary funder and capacity builder advancing sex workers’ rights in the USA. She is also a public sector consultant and founder of Orange Cap Consultation, where she helps institutions connect with marginalized communities through engagement design, facilitation, and analysis. Melodie holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Professional Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Washington. Shaping her work is important lived experiences as a queer woman of color, sex worker, and first generation college graduate.

Daniel W.K. Lee

Daniel W.K. Lee (李華強) (he/him) is a third-generation refugee, queer, Cantonese American born in Kuching, Malaysia. He earned his Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at The New School, and his debut collection of poetry, Anatomy of Want, was published by QueerMojo/Rebel Satori Press. His work has been seen in print and online, including recent pieces in Winter in America (Again), High Rise: Brutalist Poetry, The 2025 Saints & Sinners Poetry Anthology, South Dakota Review, Foglifter, and 64 Parishes. When not ticking items off his bucket list, Daniel might be found working on his next two poetry manuscripts in his home in New Orleans with his head-turning whippet Camden. Shane Lukas

Shane Lukas (he/him) combines an award-winning design career with a life of grassroots activism fighting for bodily freedoms and queer liberation. During the day for the last 10 years, he leads the team at A Great Idea (agreatidea.com), a branding and design agency serving purpose-driven nonprofit, healthcare, and education partners. During the night, he is a feisty ginger advocating for queer rights, reproductive justice, and gender-affirming and universally accessible sexual health care. His writing has appeared in many books about sex work, and he has spoken internationally about harm reduction for men in the sex industry and queer inclusion, including in his recent TED Talk.
